What is San Pedro de Alcántara?
San Pedro de Alcántara is a town within the municipality of Marbella with its own identity: its own centre, its own shops and a village life you do not find along the Marbella seafront. It sits between Puerto Banús and Estepona, right off the motorway, and works as an independent town with its own services.
Its most visible change was burying the motorway where it crossed the town and building a pedestrian boulevard on top, stitching the village back to its beach. The road used to cut San Pedro in two; today it is a continuous promenade with playgrounds, terraces and sports areas.

The Roman remains of San Pedro
San Pedro preserves two visitable archaeological sites that are little known outside the area: the Vega del Mar Basilica, an early Christian church with its necropolis beside the mouth of the Guadalmina river, and Las Bóvedas, third-century Roman baths five hundred metres from the basilica, beside the sixteenth-century watchtower built from its stones.

What kind of property is there in San Pedro de Alcántara?
Apartments in the centre and the newer grid, townhouses and villas along the beach strip and towards Guadalmina, and new developments on the edges of the town. It offers a more contained price per square metre than Puerto Banús while sitting right beside it, which is why it attracts both families living all year and buyers who want the Banús area without its price.
