What is La Cala de Mijas?

La Cala de Mijas is the coastal town of the municipality of Mijas and the centre of its twelve kilometres of coastline. It keeps a village structure, with a square, shops and a seafront promenade, and has grown a great deal over the past decade without losing that scale. The Senda Litoral runs six kilometres from La Cala to Playa de la Luna, and the municipal beaches hold three Blue Flags. It sits halfway between Marbella and Málaga airport, which is less than half an hour away, and La Cala Golf, with its three courses, is just behind.
